Meet the self-proclaimed cockroaches of pop! / New single ‘Feel Good’

The self-proclaimed ‘cockroaches of pop’ release new single ‘Feel Good’PLAY ON SPOTIFY / PLAY ON APPLE MUSICPLAY ON YOUTUBE / PLAY ON SOUNDCLOUD“Infused with noughties spirit and playful lyrics akin to PC Music… and pop pioneer Uffie… it’s as if the childhood pals never left that world of Windows XP and Katie Price tabloid drama”– Wonderland“As brash and fun-loving as they come… the perfect kind of pump-up pop.”  – TIME Magazine“They’re back and having more fun than ever.” – Billboard

With lyrics about pedophile priests, murderous gold diggers, and even politician Theresa May being a bullshitter; relentless independent British pop duo Cherryade definitely aren’t afraid to speak their minds and venture outside of the lines of pop as they carve a new lane for themselves. Bored of mundane pop songs about heartbreak and sex, their witty socio-analytical lyrics are blended with catchy playground melodies which prove hard to get out of your brain.

Outspoken, bold and colourful (to say the very least), Ella and Alex have gone from writing drunken teenage GarageBand demos to making fully fledged pop bangers with the likes of Ant Whiting (M.I.A., John Newman), Xenomania (Girls Aloud, Sugababes) and Lewis Gardiner (Ellie Goulding).

Having been hailed as ‘pop’s newest troublemakers’ by NYLON, previous single ‘Bang. Pop. Go Worldwide.’ received a landslide of support from the likes of Billboard Pride, BuzzFeed, Wonderland Magazine, Official Charts, BBC 6Music and more.

‘Feel Good’ is the second track to be taken from their upcoming self written and self produced ‘Sinking Ship’ EP, due early next year with some additional production magic from John Foyle (Years & Years, FKA Twigs).

Speaking about ‘Feel Good’, Alex says: “We just really wanted to make a bunch of songs that were fun and carefree, and not overthink things. This song’s about having thick skin and not letting people drag you down, which we’ve learnt is a lot easier said than done. I want to say I feel like we’re like pop underdogs, but at this point it’s more like pop cockroaches – we just won’t die”. “We wrote this song when we both had migraines and wanted to die… but we powered on through thanks to Haribo and painkillers and it was worth it.”TIME Magazine, MTV, The Guardian, The Line Of Best Fit, Dummy, CLASH, Spotify’s New Music Friday, BBC Radio 1 and more, Cherryade really are the new cockroaches of pop – they just won’t die.
